ICCF Policy and Development Intern
The ICCF Internship Program offers a 12 to 14-week-long, unpaid program to college juniors, seniors, and recent graduates with an interest in international conservation, domestic and international politics, and foreign affairs.
Interns can expect to support event-planning for Congressional dinners, briefings, and forums, including the U.S. Congressional International Conservation Gala in October. Interns will also have the opportunity to assist with communications, research and analysis, database management, and outreach to support the ICCF Group’s various programs.
In addition to day-to-day tasks, each ICCF intern will be asked to identify a Semester Project to be completed in a Program of his or her interest over the course of the semester. The Semester Project is identified early in the internship, with specific skill development and ICCF’s needs in mind.
Eligibility Requirements
Candidates should possess:
- Exceptional communication skills, including strong telephone and writing skills
- Demonstrated research and analysis skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage several tasks at once
- A demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- 3.0 minimum GPA
- Availability to commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week.
- Familiarity with conservation, foreign affairs issues, and/or politics is preferred
- Language skills are a plus
Compensation & Benefits
This position is unpaid. Interns will have opportunities to develop valuable professional skills and to experience all that Washington, DC can offer. ICCF's internship program will expose participants to Capitol Hill and the world of international conservation and development. Interns will also have the unique opportunity to interact personally with Members of Congress and Parliaments, the diplomatic corps, U.S. and international government officials, and business and NGO leaders.
