Internship Opportunity: Federal Affairs Intern

Location: Washington, D.C.

Position: Federal Affairs Intern

Duration: Fall 2025- Start and End date negotiable (Generally Tuesday after Labor Day -First week of December)

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth research on key federal legislative and regulatory issues affecting wide variety of clients and issue areas.
  • Monitor and analyze legislative proposals, committee hearings, and policy developments.
  • Prepare concise and informative summaries of relevant legislation and regulatory actions.
  • Assist in the preparation of advocacy materials, including issue briefs and talking points
  • Attend congressional hearings, briefings, and meetings
  • Engage in legislative outreach and assist with client fly-ins and events
  • Support the federal affairs team in various administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program.
  • Strong interest in federal government affairs, public policy, and legislative processes.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with the legislative process and key players in Washington, D.C.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
