Legislative Intern
The Office of Congressman Joe Courtney (CT-02) is seeking a Legislative Intern to work in his Washington, DC office for the Fall 2025 term. This is a paid internship. The internship is intended for current undergraduate students, graduate students, or recent graduates interested in a Congressional legislative experience. Ideal candidates will have strong written communication skills, a working knowledge of the legislative process, and the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment. Candidates with Connecticut ties are strongly encouraged to apply.
The Fall 2025 internship term runs from September through December 2025. Exact start and end dates are negotiable. Internships are in-person and offered on a part-time and full-time basis to accommodate student schedules.
Legislative Intern tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Drafting letters and recognition
- Drafting memos
- Conducting legislative research
- Attending briefings and meetings
- Answering and screening constituent phone calls
- Office administrative tasks
- Other tasks as assigned
