
Business Intern – Nonprofit Outreach Coordinator
Job Description:
Are you interested in developing real-world skills in outreach, relationship management, and persuasive communication while making a difference in communities and public health environments? Men’s Health Network (MHN), a nationally recognized nonprofit dedicated to improving the health and well-being of men and boys, is seeking a Business Intern – Nonprofit Outreach Coordinator to support our growing network of partners, funders, and advocates.
This position is ideal for undergraduate or graduate students studying Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Public Relations, Marketing, Public Health, Health Services Administration, or Communications. You’ll gain hands-on experience in donor relations, volunteer management, CRM systems, and partnership building, all while contributing to meaningful awareness campaigns. Interns will work directly under the Vice President, developing their professional voice, mastering outreach tools, and building the skill set needed for any future business, public service, or nonprofit leadership role.
What You’ll Do:
- Coordinate and manage outreach efforts with MHN’s growing network of donors, partners, and community stakeholders, ensuring timely and thoughtful communication, ideal for students in Communications, Organizational Leadership, or Strategic Communication
- Help modernize and maintain our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system by updating contacts, tracking engagements, and improving partner follow-up, excellent for those studying Business Administration, Public Health, or Health Services Administration
- Lead the coordination of MHN’s Ambassador Program, a nationwide volunteer initiative promoting men’s health in communities, workplaces, and schools, great experience for students in Nonprofit Management, Community Health, or Human Services
- Assist with drafting personalized outreach emails, thank-you messages, program updates, and follow-up communications to key stakeholders, relevant for those in Public Relations, Marketing, or Strategic Communication
- Support strategic outreach campaigns for awareness periods (e.g., Men’s Health Month, Prostate Cancer Awareness), tracking progress and preparing promotional materials, fitting for students in Marketing, Communications, or Social Innovation & Social Impact
- Gain experience in event preparation, inventory management, shipping logistics, and organizing outreach materials, a strong match for students in Public Administration or Business Operations
- Participate in weekly team meetings and collaborate on cross-functional initiatives, including outreach strategy, donor development, and partner cultivation, applicable to Political Science, Business, or Public Affairs majors
- Strengthen your professionalism and persuasive communication skills through phone calls, virtual meetings, and in-person engagement, ideal for students pursuing Corporate & Community Relations, Communications, or Business Management
- Contribute to internal documentation and tracking tools such as outreach logs, impact summaries, and volunteer reports, perfect for those in Public Health, Health Services Administration, or Organizational Leadership
- Learn how advocacy and relationship-building support a nonprofit’s mission and expand its national reach, valuable for anyone studying Nonprofit Management, Political Science, or Community Health
