Position Summary
Meridiam is seeking an intern to join its North American headquarters in Washington, D.C for either (i) an 8-week full time summer internship lasting from late June to August 2026 or (ii) a part-time internship requiring at a minimum 15 hours of onsite work per week, from January to June 2025.
Meridiam’s internship program provides a unique opportunity for students to gain practical experience in developing, financing, and managing sustainable infrastructure and energy projects.

Duties and Responsibilities
The candidate will support the operational team to develop and manage infrastructure and energy projects. This could include duties and responsibilities such as:
- Support the team with any research assignment;
- Support the team for the preparation and timely submission of all deliverables required during each phase of the project (RFQ, RFP, closing);
- Perform general risk analysis of the investment opportunities;
- Assist in the preparation of consortium arrangements including teaming agreements;
- Assist in the review and negotiation of legal documents, including concession agreements, design-build agreements, operating agreements and finance documents;
- Assist in the due diligence process, including liaising with respective advisers (legal, technical, insurance, model audit) and coordinating required input from construction and operation partners;
- Support in the financial analysis of the investment opportunities and in the optimization of the business case by:
- Performing detailed analysis of the financial model
- Analyzing potential financial alternatives
- Running scenario and sensitivity analysis
- Participate in the drafting of all internal memoranda to be presented to management;
- Participate in origination of new opportunities, including performing analysis of market sectors, public sector clients and design, construction or operation partners;
- Participate in the ESG process including all relevant due diligence and implementation of mitigation measures required;
Skills and Specifications
- Undergraduate or graduate student in Engineering, Economics or Finance or another related field;
- Relevant experience of working on infrastructure or energy related projects within an industrial group, leading project finance bank, private equity firm, fund or investment group including due diligence and transaction execution experience is a plus;
- Strong ability to work collaboratively in a small team, proactive and able to take initiative;
- Solid coordination and organizational skills;
- Self-motivated and demonstrated capacity to propose and take on new initiatives;
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills;
- Strong analytical skills;
- Financial modelling skills within project finance or private equity is a plus;
