Sales Associate

Sales Associate – PolicyPartner

Are You a Self-Starter Who Gets Things Done?

If you've ever organized a campus event, started a side hustle, or convinced skeptical people to say yes to your ideas, we want to hear from you.

About PolicyPartner

PolicyPartner is a leading regulatory intelligence firm based in Washington, DC. We work closely with executive teams and boards of directors to deliver client-specific impact assessments of changes in policy and regulation. Our clients include fintech companies, banks, crypto firms, and investors who rely on us to identify and analyze risks and opportunities in policy changes.

We provide exclusive insights through tailored research, private policy forums with regulators and decision-makers, and forward-looking analysis that shapes industry understanding of emerging regulatory trends. When General Counsels, CEOs, and investors need to understand how Washington will impact their business, they turn to PolicyPartner.

About the Role

This is an entry-level sales position where you'll be working directly with executives at financial services firms, fintech companies, and investment funds. You'll be responsible for building relationships with General Counsels, CEOs, and senior investors who need to understand how policy changes in Washington impact their business. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on challenge, learns from rejection, and sees "no" as the beginning of a conversation, not the end.

What We're Looking For

Demonstrated High Agency

  • Led from the front: Organized events, clubs, or initiatives that required rallying others around a vision
  • Sold something: Whether it was fundraising for a cause, selling products door-to-door, or convincing professors to change their policies - you've persuaded people to take action
  • Persisted through rejection: You understand that hearing "no" 10 times makes the 11th "yes" that much sweeter
  • Created your own opportunities: Started projects, businesses, or initiatives without waiting for someone else's blueprint

Intellectual Curiosity

  • Genuinely interested in financial markets, regulatory policy, and the intersection of technology and finance
  • Read beyond headlines and enjoy understanding how policy decisions impact business strategy
  • Can discuss current events in financial regulation, fintech innovation, and crypto policy with depth and nuance
  • Quick learner who can grasp complex regulatory concepts and explain them simply

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Recent graduate (0-2 years of experience)
  • Track record of taking initiative and seeing projects through to completion
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and creating structure where none exists
  • Resilient mindset - setbacks fuel your determination rather than diminish it
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse stakeholders
  • Natural curiosity about how businesses operate and markets function

What Success Looks Like

The best performers in this role are those who:

  • Take ownership of outcomes rather than just activities
  • Build genuine relationships based on trust and value
  • Learn quickly from both successes and failures
  • Identify problems before being asked to solve them
  • Balance persistence with adaptability

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (graduated within the last 2 years)
  • Demonstrated examples of leadership, sales experience, or entrepreneurial initiatives
  • Strong interest in financial services regulation, fintech, crypto, or banking policy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to face rejection and maintain momentum
  • Based in or willing to relocate to the Washington, DC area

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary plus commission structure
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Clear path for advancement based on performance
  • Direct mentorship from experienced sales professionals and policy experts
  • Unique opportunity to build relationships with C-suite executives and policymakers

How to Apply

Send your resume and a brief note (no generic cover letters, please) explaining:

  1. The most ambitious thing you've organized or sold
  2. A time you persisted through multiple rejections to achieve a goal
  3. Why you're interested in the intersection of policy and financial markets, and what you've done to learn about it
