Communications & Digital Media Internship
The American Foreign Policy Council (AFPC) and its Central Asia-Caucasus Institute (CACI) are seeking a Communications & Digital Media Intern to support the organization’s outreach, publications, and event communications efforts.
Interns will work directly with AFPC’s Program Officers and Vice President for External Relations to help expand AFPC’s reach among policymakers, media, and the public. Interns must commit to a minimum of 15 hours per week, but days and times are flexible.

Responsibilities
- Manage and create content for AFPC and CACI social media platforms (Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook).
- Oversee and update the AFPC website, including posting new reports, events, podcasts, and media appearances.
- Track news clips and media mentions related to AFPC and its experts.
- Draft, design, and distribute newsletters and event announcements.
- Assist with event communications and logistics, including promotion, photography, and live coverage.
- Support the layout and design of special reports and publications using Adobe InDesign.
- Contribute to strategies that expand AFPC’s readership and audience reach among policymakers, media, and thought leaders.
Qualifications
- Strong writing and editing skills with an eye for detail.
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign (required); familiarity with Photoshop, Canva, or Illustrator preferred.
- Experience with social media management and digital communications.
- Basic knowledge of website content management systems (WordPress experience a plus).
- Creative, organized, and able to manage multiple projects independently.
- Interest in international affairs and U.S. foreign policy.
