The Applied Research Laboratory for Intelligence and Security (ARLIS) is recruiting students to support an AI/ML project. This opportunity is available for the Spring 2026 semester, with the potential to continue into Fall 2026.

 

About the Project

Student engagement is central to this effort. The project requires a capable team of students to help with the testing and evaluations and integration of state-of-the-art AI/ML algorithms with applications to vision, audio, predictive analytics in GEOINT AI/ML, Vision Models, Audio Models, and LLM assessments for workflow improvement. This is a great opportunity for students to learn state-of-the-art in the specified fields.

 

Students will support project tasks in areas such as:

AI/ML model development, test and evaluations on benchmark datasets.

Produce metrics and prepare presentations

Must be able to obtain a U.S. security clearance. If selected, you must meet the requirements for access to classified information and will be subject to a government security clearance investigation that includes criminal and credit history checks, as well as verification of U.S. citizenship, birth, education, employment, and military history.

 

If classified work emerges, a Classification Security Guide will be provided by the sponsor.

 

Position Details

Hourly Workload: 10 or 20 hours per week (flexible during Fall to allow performance vetting)

GSA workload: GA positions may be offered, including tuition coverage, for selected students, with a commitment of 20 hours per week

$25–$30/hour

Physical Demands:

Sedentary work performed in a normal office environment; exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Ability to attend meetings both on and off campus. Spending long hours in front of a computer screen. Must be able to be in the office 5 days a week, adjusted core hours and occasional work from home considered on case by case basis.
