Legislative Intern | Summer 2026

Thorn Run Partners (TRP), one of the Top 10 lobbying firms in Washington D.C., is seeking a Legislative Intern with an interest in federal policy and politics to aid Thorn Run’s federal lobbyists on projects related to legislative and regulatory analysis, congressional hearing coverage, policy research, letter writing, Capitol Hill outreach, and other tasks as requested. Strong writing, research, and analysis skills are imperative for this position. Thorn Run is looking for a self-starter who is prepared to adapt to a fast-paced environment, maintain keen attention to detail, and take the initiative to perform everyday responsibilities with a refined level of professionalism.

At Thorn Run Partners, we prioritize collaboration, elite client service, and a collegial work environment. While our firm boasts all the expertise and government credentials of Washington's mega-firms, we also bring the creativity, collaboration, and discipline of an elite boutique. Founded in 2010, TRP is a recognized leader among the next generation of government affairs firms. Leading national publications have called our innovative approach to advocacy “nimble,” “new generation,” and “rabidly bipartisan” — and we’re looking for talented individuals who shares our values to join this dynamic team.

The Legislative Intern will be directly integrated into Thorn Run’s ten-person multidisciplinary Policy Team, working alongside experienced researchers and analysts — as well as frequent, direct exposure to partners and firm leadership. Key policy issues covered in this role include but are not limited to health care, financial services, transportation, tax, trade, and local government. Due to the high demand among summer intern applicants, TRP will be hosting two summer intern sessions: (1) May 11 or 18 – June 25; and (2) June 29 – August 7.
