Healthcare Data Scientist
Are you trying to get involved with impactful healthcare data science and clinical informatics, and not just ETL pipelines and dashboards? Quantum Insights may be right for you!
Quantum Insights is seeking experienced Healthcare Data Scientists to support advanced analytics and informatics efforts at a Federal health agency. This role focuses on applying data science, machine learning, and custom development techniques to clinical and biomedical data in support of research, operational, and policy-driven initiatives.
Data scientists in this role will work with a wide variety of clinical, research, and healthcare-related datasets (both structured and unstructured), collaborating closely with clinicians, informaticists, engineers, and other medical and federal stakeholders. The goal of this effort is to develop, enhance, and operationalize analytical and machine learning solutions that support clinical informatics use cases, including data integration, entity resolution, cohort analysis, and decision support.
The work environment may include modern analytics platforms such as Databricks (experience preferred but not required), along with custom Python-based development and cloud-enabled data pipelines. Candidates without prior Databricks experience will be supported through onboarding and platform-specific training as needed.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of professional experience in data science, analytics, or applied machine learning
- Strong experience with Python for data analysis and model development
- Experience with PySpark is highly preferred
- Experience with R is a plus but optional
- 3+ years of experience working with healthcare, clinical, biomedical, or research data
- Experience with data cleansing, normalization, and pipeline development for complex datasets
- Familiarity with clinical informatics concepts, such as clinical data models, observational data, or research workflows
- Experience communicating analytical findings through visualizations, summaries, and stakeholder-facing deliverables
- Ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
