2026 VGR Summer Fellowship

Velocity Summer 2026 VGR Fellowship – Applications Now Open

Velocity Government Relations (VGR), a bipartisan aerospace, defense, and emerging technology government relations firm, is now accepting applications for the Summer 2026 Fellowship.
 

This program offers hands-on experience at the intersection of policy, technology, and national security, supporting VGR’s work across the civil and defense space and emerging technology sectors.

About the Fellowship
Fellows will engage directly in the legislative and policy landscape shaping U.S. space, defense, and emerging technology. They will attend and report on congressional hearings, think tank events, agency meetings, and industry briefings, and produce succinct, executive-level summaries for VGR clients and policymakers.


Fellows contribute to VGR’s Weekly, a newsletter read by lawmakers and industry leaders, while supporting research, client deliverables, and social media initiatives. Additional responsibilities include tracking legislation, assisting with business development, and participating in team strategy meetings and ad hoc projects.


Program Details

Time commitment: 15-30 hours/week (in person)

Duration: June – August (flexible start/end dates)

Location: Near Capitol Hill, Washington, D.C.

Compensation: $17–$22/hour, commensurate with experience

Academic credit: Eligible for academic credit subject to university approval
 

Qualifications

Senior undergraduate or full-time graduate student (fields such as public policy, political science, international affairs, or security studies preferred)

Strong writing, research, and interpersonal skills

Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and interested in government and legislative affairs

Previous government or corporate experience is a plus but not required

(Optional) Familiarity with LinkedIn or GIS tools
