Job Purpose:
Cerberus Capital Management (CCM) is launching a Strategic Research Initiatives Program and is looking for AI-Enabled Research Analysts to join a firmwide effort to help drive the use of AI in investment and strategy formation processes. This team will spend time across Cerberus’ core strategies (private equity, credit, real assets, venture capital) to identify where and how the organization could implement new, AI-optimized workflows. By actively working with investment professionals, the team will uncover areas for improvement, then work with technology teams to define and build new products and processes across the investment lifecycle. This role offers a firm-wide perspective on how AI and emerging technologies can drive value across the alternative asset investment landscape.
Responsibilities:
• Build broad awareness of the “state of the art” in foundation models and AI tooling.
• Attend and debrief on industry events and conferences alongside the firm’s technology leadership.
• Support and manage investment research, which may include building and structuring datasets that improve decision-making and support the development of updated operational workflows.
• Work directly with investment and technology teams across Cerberus to understand their workflows and help drive adoption of scalable, modern, best-in-class technology.
• Communicate clearly (both in writing and verbally) decisions around AI usage, products, and data frameworks to technical and non-technical constituents.
• Participate in a two-week immersive onboarding program in our New York office, gaining firmwide exposure to Cerberus’ investment strategies, senior leadership, and cross-functional collaboration with the firm’s technology and data teams.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in AI, computer science, machine learning, math, economics,
or related field.
• Deep technical understanding of state-of-the-art foundation models and benchmarks, training
and inference infrastructure, model deployment, and data curation tools.
• A genuine interest in finance and capital markets – experience in a technical role at a startup,
financial firm, or technology company is a plus, but not required.
• Ability (or deep curiosity / willingness) to understand investment process and workflow, and
build / implement technical solutions.
• Deep research abilities, focused on synthesizing complex information, and forming a clear,
defensible point of view.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate highly technical
concepts for a senior audience.
• Comfort operating in a collaborative, high-intensity environment.
• A desire to work as part of a new cohort, doing innovative work at the intersection of
technology and finance.
