Associate Family Wealth Advisor

Role:

Harbour Capital Advisors is seeking an Associate Family Wealth Advisor to be an integral part of our company and wealth management team. The Associate Family Wealth Advisor will assist our firm’s other principals in providing wealth planning, family office, and investment management services to our high-net-worth private client base.

Specific Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist Family Wealth Advisors in providing comprehensive personal financial, estate, trust, retirement, and tax planning services to high-net-worth individuals;
  • Interview clients and input data gathered into estate and financial planning tools;
  • Assist in development of wealth planning presentations, as needed;
  • Build and maintain strong and positive working relationships with other Members, Officers, and employees; clients; attorneys, advisors, consultants, and service providers; and parties that serve as “centers of influence” within target client communities;
  • Adhere to all required compliance and regulatory requirements;
  • Proactively participate in efforts to strengthen existing relationships and identify new business opportunities;
  • Participate in initiatives and campaigns to better inform and service target clients with respect to family office services and/or private wealth management and advisory services;
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the law and changing legal and tax landscape; and,
  • Ensure that any professional designations and affiliations are maintained and current by fulfilling necessary continuing education and other requirements, as appropriate.

 

Operational / Administrative / Relationship Management

 

  • Enhance client experience by interfacing with existing and prospective families
  • Respond to client questions and inquiries
  • Leverage various communication channels (e.g., newsletters, website)
  • Prepare and process new account paperwork
  • Process funds movement requests and wire transfers
  • Prepare materials for client and prospective client meetings
  • Input data from client notes and communications into SharePoint 
  • Organize and maintain paper and electronic client files 
  • Support and drive firm initiatives and operational efficiency
  • Maintain risk awareness and regulatory knowledge
  • Participate in initiatives and campaigns to better inform and service target clients with respect to family office services and/or private wealth management and advisory services

 

Financial and wealth planning

 

  • Interview clients and input data into financial planning tools
  • Assist in working with individual clients to provide comprehensive personal financial, estate, trust, retirement, and tax planning services to high-net-worth individuals
  • Prepare various reports for clients in the areas of cash flow and tax planning
  • Assist with development of estate plan flowcharts
  • Assist in financial planning projects and analysis

 

Skills, Requirements, and Preferences:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) in related field from a four-year college or university required 
  • Note: MBA, CFP, JD, or CPA welcome to apply (with commensurate adjustment to proposed salary range) 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and SharePoint 
  • Strong detail orientation and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to work and lead in a team environment
