Graduate Research & Strategy Fellow Position

 

Position Title: Research and Strategy Fellow 

Location:  Metropolitan Washington, DC  (Position is remote with possible in-office time for a Fellow residing in the Washington, D.C. metro area.)      

Start Date:  May 1, 2026                           Salary: $25 per hour

Hours:  Part-time, 5 to 10 hours per week, Monday through Friday, within the hours of 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM ET.  The Fellow may be required to work before 9:00 AM ET and after 5:30 PM ET and on weekends, if needed and approved.

Fellowship Position.  Lassiter seeks a highly motivated graduate fellow to support research, thought leadership development, and client engagement activities. This position is ideal for a graduate student interested in business, strategy consulting, leadership development, board governance, and corporate philanthropy.  The Research and Strategy Fellow will be an integral member of the team and enable Lassiter to further develop client solutions, keep abreast of current industry trends, and broaden its market presence. They must be able to excel in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple responsibilities, and be prepared to adapt to changing priorities to meet client and firm needs. 

Responsibilities.  The Fellow will be responsible for:

  • Market and Sector Appropriate Research.  Monitor and synthesize trends in leadership consulting, board governance, and philanthropy, providing concise executive briefings to support firm strategy and client delivery.
  • Targeted Research.  The Fellow will do in-depth topic specific research to support the production of articles and other thought pieces that Lassiter produces for its website and social media.
  • Writing. The Fellow will also draft posts and articles for publication on topics relevant to the firm’s practice.   
  • Client Support.  The Fellow will assist in project coordination, including generating specific client solutions, such as trainings, client reports, and other work outputs.

Required Qualifications.   Candidates for this position must be currently enrolled in a graduate program focused on business, English, or communications. Additionally, candidates must possess the following attributes:

  • Curiosity, grit, creativity, and attention to detail
  • An all-hands-on-deck mentality (teamwork is part of our organizational DNA) as well as the ability to prioritize and work independently
  • Strong research skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to utilize AI tools appropriately

 

Additional Desired Qualifications.  It is a plus if the candidate:

  • Has been exposed, either through course work or other lived experience, to organizational development, psychology, human resources, business, or management. 
  • Has familiarity with online platforms such as Box and Teamwork.com.

 

Hours & Assignment Duration. 

  • The fellowship position begins May 1, 2026.
  • The Fellow will work a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 10 hours per week across the calendar year. 
  • The length of engagement will depend on Lassiter’s needs and the Fellow’s availability.

 

Work Mode.  This is a remote position, but some in-office or on-site client work may be required if the Fellow resides in the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area. 

Compensation.  The Fellow will be paid $25 an hour.  There are no financial or other benefits associated with the position.
