Real Estate Private Equity: Portfolio Management Summer MBA Intern

Center Creek Capital Group, a dynamic, young real estate private equity firm, is offering an exciting opportunity for a part-time Summer Intern to join our team. We are looking for an MBA student that can allocate approximately 8-10 hours per week to work in our Washington, DC office. This is an opportunity to participate in the full spectrum of financial analysis and investment management, working in a highly professional environment and reporting into the senior investment team.
The Summer Intern will be involved in all stages of the portfolio management process, from asset management including leasing, renewals, and expense management, through financing and disposition. The candidate will be immersed in the local markets in which Center Creek Capital Group invests and will gain a deep understanding of all aspects of Single-Family Rental (SFR) life cycle.
The ideal candidate will have completed coursework in finance and real estate and have strong Excel and organizational skills.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Working with Portfolio Management to review reporting and evaluate asset performance from our property manager
- Performing in-depth industry and market research
- Assisting with capital markets functions including supporting financial modeling for debt facilities and equity partners
- Underwriting new deals alongside the Acquisitions team
- Preparing materials and presentations to the investment committee, current and/or potential investors
- Ad-hoc projects and other duties
Qualifications:
Ability to manage projects, create presentations and reports, and work independently is critical.
- Major in business, economics, real estate, or related field
- Passion for quality work with strong attention to detail and initiative
- Strong oral and written communication skills to clearly and effectively convey issues, reports and other deliverables
- Excellent financial modeling and analysis skills, especially working with Excel spreadsheets
