Summer Operations & Development Associate

The Young People’s Alliance is a youth-led, bipartisan organization helping young people reclaim the American Dream and representing 3,000 students across 75 campuses nationally. We develop innovative policy solutions that actually work for our generation and achieve real policy change for affordability, economic opportunity, and community in the AI era.

Our team has passed legislation in multiple states, mobilized tens of thousands of students to vote, and is a recognized leader on emerging issues like AI companions, social media design, and the future of work.

We are seeking an entrepreneurial, driven individual to assist the Executive Director with operations and fundraising. This role is an opportunity to get real leadership experience owning initiatives from start to finish, designed to prepare the right candidate to grow into a full-time executive role at YPA.
 

Key Initiatives:

  • YPA Membership Program: Help us add value to our members’ YPA experiences by improving our internal activity reporting/social network, YPA Assembly. This includes leading focus groups to understand members’ needs, planning mass communications to members, vibe-coding updates to the website, and negotiating corporate discounts and other offers for members.
     
  • Thought Leadership: Synthesize member priorities, funder interests, and political trends to expand an existing initiative or plan a new initiative for YPA. Become a thought leader on relevant issues by writing op eds and building relationships with partners and funders.
     
  • Operational Assistance: Assist with writing grant proposals, developing our governance structure, and sending emails and scheduling meetings on behalf of the Executive Director as needed.

  • Non-stop drive to give young people a greater say in politics.
     

Details:
Pay: $22/hour for 40 hours/week
Location: Based in or willing to move to DC preferred but not required
Dates: Flexible, summer timeline
