Canvasser and Field Manager

Work to Save the Bees in Our Canvassing and Field Manager Positions

Almost a quarter of bumblebee species are at risk of going extinct, and pesticides called neonics are a big reason why. Companies are now coating seeds with these deadly pesticides, meaning they grow in the plant and contaminate the soil. One neonic-coated seed is enough to kill 80,000 bees.

Environment Maryland is urging state leaders to support a ban on seeds coated with this bee-killing pesticide. We are hiring canvassers and field managers in our Washington, D.C. office to educate the public about the issue, raise critical funds, and generate the visibility necessary to influence decision-makers.

As a canvasser this summer you will:

  • Educate and engage citizens on a campaign to make real change on pressing environmental and public interest issues
  • Develop essential communication and political advocacy skills
  • Build membership and raise money for nonprofit groups in your community
  • Earn leadership opportunities, supervising and managing staff in the field
  • Gain the experience and connections needed to launch your career in nonprofit and policy work

We are looking for:

  • We are seeking hard-working individuals with good communication skills and a passion for social change. We are hiring full-time staff only.
