Business Development & Settlement Agent

Overview
Universal Title, a premier real estate settlement company and recognized leader in the DC Metro area, is expanding our team in Howard County, Maryland. We are seeking an outgoing, personable, and motivated Business Development/Settlement Agent who will be the face of Universal Title in the Ellicott City area.  You will be posting on social media, managing client relationships, and conducting settlements for home owners

What You Will Be Doing:

Inside Sales & Relationship Development

  • Support business growth through inside sales efforts, including outbound and inbound communication with real estate agents, lenders, and clients
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with referral partners to promote Universal Title’s services
  • Follow up on leads and opportunities to convert inquiries into closed transactions
  • Represent Universal Title professionally and confidently in all client interactions

Marketing & Social Media Support

  • Assist with marketing initiatives aimed at increasing brand awareness and strengthening referral relationships
  • Support social media efforts, including sharing company updates, promotions, and industry-related content
  • Participate in events, campaigns, or outreach activities to promote Universal Title within the local real estate community
  • Collaborate with leadership on creative ideas to enhance visibility and engagement
  • Deliver a smooth, professional, and client-focused settlement experience
  • Maintain consistent communication with buyers, sellers, real estate agents, lenders, and internal team members throughout the transaction
  • Assist processors in reviewing and finalizing settlement statements and closing packages
  • Ensure accuracy, compliance, and attention to detail in all closing documentation

Settlement & Closing Responsibilities

  • Conduct real estate closings and guide buyers and sellers through the signing of settlement documents
  • Deliver a smooth, professional, and client-focused settlement experience
  • Maintain consistent communication with buyers, sellers, real estate agents, lenders, and internal team members throughout the transaction
  • Assist processors in reviewing and finalizing settlement statements and closing packages
  • Ensure accuracy, compliance, and attention to detail in all closing documentation

Qualifications

  • Some experience in marketing and social media engagement
  • Prior experience as a Settlement Officer or conducting real estate closings in Maryland is preferred, but not required
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn the industry
  • Must be outgoing, personable, and be willing to be in front of the camera for social media posts!
