Strategy Consultant/Senior Strategy Consultant

About the Firm

Logistics Capital & Strategy (LCS) is a specialized advisory firm focused on the transportation and logistics sector. The firm advises private equity firms on due diligence and value creation, supports corporate clients on growth strategy and M&A, and partners with airports, airlines, and freight operators on commercial and operational matters. LCS is known for deep sector expertise and delivery of high-quality analytical work on demanding timelines.

This role offers a significant opportunity to work on a variety of engagement types, direct exposure to senior leadership and clients, and meaningful responsibility from the start. Candidates can expect to develop a broad base of financial, commercial, and sector-specific expertise while working on engagements that span the transportation and logistics sector.

Position Overview

LCS is hiring a Strategy Consultant or Senior Strategy Consultant to support its transportation and logistics advisory practice. Strong analytical capabilities are central to this role: the successful candidate will spend a meaningful portion of their time building financial, operational, and forecast models that underpin client engagements across private equity due diligence, corporate strategy, and airport and airline advisory work.

Equally important is the ability to thoughtfully review model outputs to ensure conclusions hold up against transportation, financial, and operational realities. This kind of analytical rigor sits at the core of how LCS delivers value to clients, and it is one of the most rewarding parts of the work.

Responsibilities

  • Build financial, operational, and forecast models in Microsoft Excel, drawing on public filings, client data, and proprietary industry datasets
  • Review and refine analytical outputs to ensure they are well-grounded in transportation, financial, and operational reality
  • Conduct primary and secondary research on markets, customers, competitors, cost structures, and operating benchmarks
  • Synthesize analytical findings into clear, well-structured client presentations and written deliverables
  • Support engagement teams from kickoff through final delivery, including participation in client meetings
  • Contribute to business development activities, including market outlooks, conference materials, and client proposals

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, preferably in finance, economics, accounting, statistics, or another quantitative discipline
  • One to five years of experience in a role with meaningful financial modeling responsibilities, such as investment banking, private equity, equity research, transaction advisory, corporate development, or financial consulting
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to build clear, well-structured models from disparate data sources
  • An analytical mindset, including a habit of checking work against external benchmarks and thinking critically about whether the numbers tell a coherent story
  • Strong Microsoft PowerPoint skills, with the ability to translate analytical work into effective client communications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work under deadline pressure

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to M&A processes, due diligence, or PE-sponsored transactions
  • Direct experience in the transportation, logistics, aviation, or freight industries
  • Experience using AI tools in a professional analytical workflow, and interest in advancing their application within the firm
