UNPAID - Horticulture Engagement Intern

Baltimore Green Justice Workers Cooperative (BGJWC) is seeking one undergrad or grad students for an unpaid, part-time Horticulture Engagement Internship with Baltimore Green Justice Workers Cooperative (BGJWC).  

Horticulture Engagement Interns will assist BGJWC staff with the (1) coordination of its horticulture community engagement in two unit blocks in East and West Baltimore; (2) researching horticulture career opportunities; and (3) helping to create horticulture lesson plans for ABE/GED programs that tie-in the four core subjects (math, social studies, science and language arts).   Duties include:  

(1) researching local, regional, national and international horticulture engagement projects and workforce development programs; 

(2) creating flyers, surveys, posters, collages and other informational documents;

(3) assist in the coordination of follow-up meetings (in-person and/or virtual) with community residents; and

(4) working with residents and BGJWC staff to develop presentations and outreach materials; 

(5) helping to design, co-design horticulture career modules; and

(6) other duties as assigned.

This internship is hybrid.  The majority of work is done virtually with meetings via ZOOM; however, interns must meet in-person weekly.
