UNPAID - Black Co-op Study Circle Intern
Baltimore Green Justice Workers Cooperative (BGJWC) is seeking two undergrad or grad students for an unpaid, part-time internship to help relaunch the Black Co-op Study Circle for BGJWC staff, BGJW Co-op members and the general public.
The purpose of this study circle is to establish a learning-social environment for primarily Black, worker-owned and/or led organizations (co-ops) from anywhere in the world. Although allies of other races are welcome, the Black Co-op Study Circle is an intentionally Black gathering.
Interns will assist BGJWC's staff, co-op community partners and Black Co-op Study Circle participants in relaunching and implementing the Black Co-op Study Circle. Duties include but are not limited to:
(1) researching local, regional, national and international co-ops and statistics;
(2) creating flyers, surveys, posters, collages and other informational documents;
(3) assisting in the coordination of follow-up meetings (in-person and/or virtual) with instructors, volunteers and other members of the Black Co-op Study Circle;
(4) curating possible readings, professional development/training and site visits for Black Co-op Study Circle participants;
(5) working with BGJWC staff and Black Co-op Study Circle participants to develop presentations and outreach materials; and
(6) other duties as assigned.
This internship is hybrid. The majority of work is done virtually, but some in-person work is required.
