Salesforce/CRM Data Intern

Summary

This internship offers hands-on experience with Salesforce in a mission-driven nonprofit environment. You will gain practical skills in CRM administration, data quality, reporting, documentation, and cross-team operations. This role is especially useful for someone interested in Salesforce/CRM administration or development, nonprofit operations, data analysis, business systems, or technology-enabled program support.

 

The Salesforce/CRM Data Intern will help improve the accuracy, organization, and usefulness of data in Salesforce. The intern will support data cleanup, reporting, documentation, and other Salesforce administration projects. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, solving process problems, learning new technology, and helping teams use systems more effectively.

Prior Salesforce experience is helpful but not required. A strong candidate will be organized, careful, eager to learn, and comfortable working with spreadsheets and digital tools.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning, organizing, and updating records in Salesforce
  • Identifying duplicate or incomplete records
  • Supporting data imports and exports
  • Creating or updating Salesforce reports and dashboards
  • Documenting common Salesforce processes for staff users
  • Helping maintain data quality standards
  • Assisting with basic Salesforce configuration projects, such as fields, page layouts, list views, or reports
  • Testing updates or changes before they are rolled out to staff
  • Supporting team members with Salesforce-related questions or documentation
  • Completing relevant Salesforce Trailhead learning modules as part of professional development

Qualifications

  • Interest in Salesforce, CRM systems, nonprofit technology, data operations, or business systems
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Comfort working with spreadsheets, such as Microsoft Excel 
  • Ability to organize information clearly and consistently
  • Good written communication skills
  • Willingness to ask questions and learn new systems
  • Ability to handle sensitive information responsibly
  • Dependability and strong follow-through

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Salesforce, Trailhead, or another CRM
  • Familiarity with reports, dashboards, or database tools
  • Coursework in information systems, business analytics, data analytics, computer science, nonprofit management, marketing, operations, or a related field
  • Experience cleaning or organizing data
  • Interest in education, civics, history, nonprofit work, or public service
