Every year, New Story Leadership brings ten rising Israeli and Palestinian leaders to Washington, DC to learn from the people shaping policy, speak truth to power, and build something rare: a shared advocacy platform for a homeland they both call home. None of it happens without our team of management interns — the people who keep the Washington Leadership Program running behind the scenes.
Position Overview - Programs & Congressional Engagement Intern
We're looking for a highly organized Programs & Congressional Engagement Intern to support the Washington Leadership Program and our Hill advocacy work. It consists of hands-on experience in program coordination, congressional engagement, and policy research, right at the center of how NSL turns leadership development into real access.
Core Responsibilities
- Coordinate program logistics — events, workshops, convenings
- Communicate with and support program participants
- Research congressional strategy and prep briefings
- Schedule Hill meetings and manage follow-up
- Research policy and draft memos
- Provide administrative support (Monday.com, scheduling, document prep)
Time Commitment
- Semester: 8–10 hrs/week, remote-friendly, academic credit available
- Summer: ~40 hrs/week, stipended, in-person required — congressional focus demands presence in DC
What We're Looking For
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Interest in U.S. policy and congressional engagement
- Professional communication skills — comfortable with Hill staff, donors, and program participants alike
- Ability to navigate sensitive or political topics with nuance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools
