Updata Partners – Growth Equity Analyst Job Description

Updata Partners is seeking an Analyst to join the team in our Washington, DC office. The Analyst will have responsibilities across the spectrum of growth equity investment activities, with a focus on deal sourcing and prospecting for companies that fit Updata’s investment strategy. The Analyst will help build and manage a pipeline of companies for the firm.

The Analyst position provides first-hand investment experience at a leading software-focused growth equity firm. Direct interaction with senior investment team members will help the Analyst develop a point of view on investment decisions early in their career.

Position: Growth Equity Analyst

Location: Washington, DC

Start: June 2027

Compensation: Market competitive salary and bonus based on performance

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of the B2B software to source prospects that fit Updata’s investment criteria via outbound efforts
• Help maintain pipeline of opportunities across the investment team
• Support efforts to build relationships with early-stage investors and service providers in target geographies
• Ensure data entry and maintenance of Salesforce records
• Create new and improve existing sourcing workflows to drive efficiency across the team
• Support certain deal execution and portfolio management tasks

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have most of the below qualities:

• Anticipated graduation date of December 2026 or May/June 2027 from a Bachelor's Degree program
• Majoring in a business-related and / or technology-related field
• Dedicated interest in entrepreneurship, finance, and technology
• Critical thinking skills, including research and analytical abilities
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Excel, Salesforce, and other database skills
• Ability to multi-task and adequately prioritize assignments
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Hustle

• Effective communication and writing skills
• Willingness to be a team player
