- Financial Planning & Research: Construct comprehensive financial plans, run retirement simulations, and conduct investment market research. [1, 2]
- Business Operations: Learn the day-to-day management of the firm, including compliance, billing, and software systems.
- Growth & Acquisition: Assist in marketing efforts and learn how to onboard new clients to expand the practice.
The 3-to-5-Year Transition Pathway
- Year 1: Focus on licensing (Series 7/66 or equivalent), mastering firm software, supporting client service, and learning the operational backend.
- Year 2–3: Transition to Associate Advisor. Begin lead-managing select client relationships and co-handling complex planning cases.
- Year 4–5: Transition to Lead Advisor and Successor. Initiate the formal business equity buyout and equity transfer plan.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field (or currently nearing graduation).
