Program Overview:
The Sallie Mae Internship program seeks to attract and develop exceptional early talent while adding value to our organization. Our goal is to tie academic learning into a practical business setting while fostering professional and personal growth within a student’s area of focus. Over the course of the semester, interns will gain exposure to senior leaders, attend meetings, work alongside mentors, and receive valuable performance feedback.
What You'll Contribute
The Business Analysis Intern will support the business analysis function by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data to provide insights and recommendations that drive informed decision-making and operational improvements. You will collaborate with stakeholders, assist in data analysis, and contribute to projects aimed at optimizing business processes.
What You'll Do
- Support business analysis initiatives by assisting in data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
- Perform Financial Analysis of School Partners
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, understand business objectives, and identify opportunities for analysis and improvement.
- Assist in analyzing complex data sets, identifying trends, patterns, and insights.
- Conduct research and gather relevant information to support analysis and provide context for findings.
- Assist in developing and presenting reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate analysis findings to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to contribute to process optimization, operational efficiency, and decision-making.
- Assist in documenting business processes, requirements, and analysis findings.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of business analysis methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Stay informed about industry trends, advancements in business analysis, and emerging technologies.
- Support project management activities, including tracking project milestones, timelines, and deliverables.

What you have
Minimum skills and experience required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data sets and develop data-driven strategies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate findings and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Interest in market and industry research.
- Proficient in financial analysis
- Proficient in data analysis tools and techniques. Awareness of statistical analysis and data visualization will be a bonus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
Education:
- Currently enrolled in a college or university.
- Open to undergraduate or graduate level students with expected graduation dates of Dec 2027 - May 2028
Availability:
- This is a 12 week internship and expectations for a 40 hour work week with a start date of 6/7/27.
- We follow a 3 day flexible in office policy and open to working out of our Newark, DE office.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Previous internship experience in technology preferred.
- Adaptability and openness to learning
