Committee Receptionist - MGA Government, Labor, and Elections Committee
Role Overview
The Committee Receptionist serves as the front-facing representative of the committee, supporting visitor intake, communications, and administrative support functions. The receptionist will be able to learn how committees communicate with stakeholders across the General Assembly, and contribute to the Government, Labor, and Election Committee’s administrative success throughout the Legislative Session.
This is an entry-level, full-time role that is active for the 90-day Legislative Session. Applicants should have great organizational and communication skills, and be fluent in Microsoft tools including Outlook, Word, and Excel, and be willing to learn.
Daily Rate is $150 per day.
Core Responsibilities:
- Greet and log all visitors; ensure proper check-in procedures for hearings are followed.
- Answer and route phone calls to appropriate committee staff; take accurate messages.
- Assist witnesses with sign-up instructions.
- Maintain daily visitor and call tracking logs.
- Operate the Committee Display Application during hearings and briefings to ensure the public is informed of the bill order.
- Communicate Committee hearing requirements and bill schedule with Delegate offices.
- Monitor mail distribution to Chair and Vice Chair offices.
- Support other committee staff with administrative tasks as assigned.
