Associate/Consultant

Associate/Consultant

Position Overview

Yashoda is a growing federal management consulting firm that helps federal leaders across government organizations address complex challenges, strengthen their operations, and deliver better outcomes. We combine public-sector experience with a practical, hands-on approach to consulting, working closely with our clients to turn ideas into meaningful results.

As an early member of our growing team, the Associate will have an opportunity to help shape both our client work and the future of the firm. Associates will work directly with company leadership, contribute to meaningful federal engagements, and take on responsibility earlier than they might at a larger organization.

We are seeking a recent college graduate who is intellectually curious, highly motivated, and serious about becoming an exceptional consultant. We do not expect candidates to arrive knowing how to do everything. We are looking for someone who learns quickly, asks thoughtful questions, works independently, and cares deeply about the quality of their work.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and analyze quantitative and qualitative information to identify findings, trends, and practical recommendations
  • Develop polished PowerPoint presentations that translate complex information into clear, compelling, and visually effective stories
  • Draft and refine client communications, reports, briefing materials, meeting summaries, and other written deliverables
  • Use Excel to organize information, conduct analyses, and develop charts and visualizations that support client decision-making
  • Coordinate project activities by maintaining workplans, tracking deadlines and action items, organizing meetings, and managing project materials
  • Participate in client meetings, interviews, and working sessions by preparing materials, capturing key takeaways, and supporting facilitation

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree completed by the position’s start date
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
  • Strong analytical, writing, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to learn unfamiliar topics quickly, ask thoughtful questions, and apply feedback
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and know when to seek guidance
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in business, public policy, public administration, public health, economics, communications, data analytics, or a related field
  • Internship or comparable experience in government, federal consulting, professional services, business operations, policy, research, or a related environment
  • Exposure to client service or experience working with stakeholders in a professional setting
  • Interest in federal government operations and mission-driven consulting

Federal experience is helpful but is not required.

Core Attributes

The strongest candidates will demonstrate:

  • Curiosity: A genuine desire to understand new subjects, ask meaningful questions, and continue learning
  • Commitment: A dependable approach to their work and a willingness to follow through on responsibilities
  • Care: Pride in the quality of their work and consideration for the clients, colleagues, and communities affected by it
  • Collegiality: A collaborative working style and a willingness to contribute to the success of the broader team
  • Competence: Strong judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to turn what they learn into high-quality results

Working Arrangements

This is a full-time, hybrid position based in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The specific mix of remote, company, and client-site work will vary based on project requirements and team needs.

The Associate must be available to work in person at Yashoda or client locations when needed.
