The Office of National Drug Control Policy’s Office of Grants and Programs is seeking motivated undergraduate and graduate students for a Spring 2027 Internship!
The Office of Grants and Programs administers the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) and Drug Free Communities Support Programs. This is a unique opportunity to support hands-on implementation of proven strategies to reduce drug trafficking and create a drug-free America.
Interns will:
- Gain exposure to senior policymakers and interagency coordination through direct work on grant programs, policy development, and law enforcement and primary prevention initiatives
- Enhance research, analytical, and communication skills along with their understanding of federal policymaking and interagency processes
- Develop professional experience in drug control strategy law enforcement and primary prevention policy
Internship Dates: Tuesday, January 19, 2027, through Friday, May 21, 2027
Location: ONDCP offices adjacent to the White House Complex (Washington D.C.)
Schedule: Full- or Part-Time
Note: This is an unpaid internship.

Eligibility:
- Work onsite at ONDCP’s office located in Washington DC for at least 16 hours per week through the duration of the internship program
- Be enrolled at least part-time in college (as determined by their school’s credit valuation system) on the first day of the internship session
- Pass a background check/drug test
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Be 18 years of age or older
