2024 Summer Intern, Human Capital Consulting (Remote or Hybrid; Bachelors or Masters)

ICF's People, Process, and Program Performance (P4) group is on a mission to assist our clients in overcoming their organizational and management challenges, thereby helping them to accomplish their objectives. In essence, we enhance the efficiency of organizations in what they do. Our role encompasses assisting organizations in strategic planning, aligning their workforce, processes, and technology to meet their objectives. We collaborate with clients from Federal, State, and local governments, as well as commercial and private sectors. 

We are currently seeking a Human Capital Consulting Intern, eager to be a part of a dynamic team of professionals offering services in organizational development, applied research in workforce management and development, and strategic performance improvement to our clients. Our projects and clientele are diverse, with recent projects spanning various sectors. 

As a Human Capital Consulting Intern at ICF, you will have the chance to apply your academic knowledge, gain project exposure, and interact with industry experts while building consulting skills and subject matter expertise. You will assist in the development of innovative, timely, and high-quality solutions and services, working on multiple projects simultaneously with staff across all levels. 

This is a full-time, 10-week internship that begins in early June 2024. The position may be fully remote from any U.S. location, or hybrid from our Reston, VA headquarters. Currently, relocation assistance is not available for this position.  A designated workspace and a stable internet connection for daily teleconferences and video meetings is essential. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate as part of small consulting teams under Project Managers' guidance. 
  • Review relevant literature and extract key concepts to meet client project requirements. 
  • Participate in data collection and analysis to understand our clients and their needs better. 
  • Summarize data in a compelling and easy-to-understand manner for use in presentations, learning materials, and reports. 
  • Write sections of reports, guidebooks, and training materials, tailoring style, and content for different target audiences. 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Organizational Development, Management Studies, Communications, Psychology, Public Policy, Political Science, Liberal Arts, Business or related field. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Intermediate or advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook). 
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems, and recommend solutions. 
  • Superior attention to detail. 
  • Interest in learning the foundations of human capital, leadership, training, and/or applied workforce and organizational research. 
  • Familiarity with consulting practices in Federal, state, and/or local government agencies. 
  • Experience developing and/or delivering strategies and best practices to client organizations. 
  • Skill in relevant specialized software, such as MS Project, Tableau, survey software, R, or SPSS.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:

$31,874.00 - $59,604.00
