This is a unique opportunity for rising college Seniors to learn, contribute, and gain real-world work experience in a collaborative environment. Interns have the chance to learn more about Aon’s culture and businesses while developing practical skills necessary for future success and postgraduate opportunities. The program equips interns with an understanding of working in an environment dedicated to exceeding client expectations and delivering products and services distinct to unique client needs.

Affinity is a leading provider of specialty insurance solutions with decades of experience in the design, administration, marketing, underwriting, broking, and delivery of customized programs to a variety of professional, small & medium enterprise and consumer markets.  Through sponsor partnerships with 300 plus corporate and association clients, we add value to their member, customer, and affiliate relationships.  Affinity’s 1,400 colleagues across 15 offices place more than $4.4 billion USD in premium on behalf of 34 million customers through 18,000 active broker distributors.  We partner with many leading insurance companies as their managing general underwriter.

 

A Typical Day Could Include:

  • Be exposed to and learn the essentials of insurance (risk, perils, hazards, risk transfer and management, etc.) from an underwriting mentor.
  • Benefit from specific product training sessions.
  • Learn to analyze applications.
  • Generate a risk analysis of existing Affinity client or prospective client.
  • Prepare provisional quotes for review and approval by your underwriting mentor. 
  • Review, contrast and compare policy forms and prepare coverage summaries.
  • Evaluate available data and create benchmarking reports.
  • Work closely within the assigned Affinity business unit, attending team meetings, learning client relationship management, and underwriting skills.
  • Attend claims review meetings and become familiar with the loss management process.
  • Participate in strategy sessions with Affinity marketing department as promotional campaigns are developed and implemented. 
  • Conduct informational interviews with colleagues to gain a better understanding of diverse professions within the given business unit and Affinity and thereby initiate a network of colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • Work to contribute to and execute a group project with fellow Affinity Interns and actively participate in a formal presentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Please only apply to only one Affinity Internship position
  • Rising senior, graduating between December 2024 – June 2025
  • Overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above at the time of application and start date.
  • All majors are accepted.

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $20.50 to $25.50 per hour. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

Aon offers a benefits package for temporary and seasonal employees who will work 20 or more hours per week including: medical, dental, and vision insurance at the employee’s expense, critical illness insurance, 10 Company holidays per calendar year (paid, if eligible), paid sick leave as provided under state and local law, and a 401(k) savings plan with employer contributions. Eligibility for benefits are governed by the applicable plan documents and policies.
