Associate, Office of the President

McLarty Associates is seeking a talented, resourceful, highly organized individual for a full-time, Associate position to support the firm’s President. We are seeking an individual for a July start. The position is based in Washington, D.C., and the associate will be expected to work in-person

 

Ideal candidates for this position possess an understanding of U.S. diplomacy and global relations, and an area studies specialization in Europe, Eurasia, or elsewhere. Applicants should have a robust background, demonstrated interest and/or experience living or studying outside the United States. Proficiency in at least one major language in addition to English is strongly preferred.Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Providing administrative support to the firm’s President (coordinating and maintaining schedules, completing expense reports, event planning, making travel arrangements, etc.); 
  • Assisting with business development efforts by drafting corporate profiles and business proposals;
  • Conducting research and analysis of economic, political, trade, technology, public policy, international, financial, and business issues;
  • Compiling biographies, preparing presentations and client deliverables;
  • Monitoring news outlets;
  • Attending and reporting on speeches, panel discussions, and policy forums of interest to the firm and clients;
  • Other duties as assigned.

     

We are seeking individuals who are:

  • Inclined to take initiative and anticipate the needs of the President and the team at large;
  • Attentive to details;
  • Able to multi-task and complete tasks in a timely manner on their own initiative;
  • Strong communication skills, including excellent writing ability;
  • Strong critical thinking;
  • Able to operate in a fast-paced work environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism, mature judgment, and confidentiality;
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, Office 365, Adobe Acrobat, and other business applications and media platforms.
