International Economics Internship

Job Title: International Economics Internship.

Job Type: Part-Time Internship (10-15 hours/week)

Duration: Summer 2024

Compensation: $18/hour

Location: Washington, DC, in-person

About Us: The Group of Thirty (G30) is a non-partisan think tank and international forum that gathers senior representatives in economics and finance from the public and private sectors and academia to collectively advise policymakers and practitioners on issues impacting the world economy. The Group holds regular plenary sessionsand seminars and publishes papers and reports on current economic and financial issues.

Who we are looking for: A hardworking, motivated undergraduate upperclassman with a background and interest in international economics and finance.

Skills required:

• Experience researching financial and economic information.

• Ability to compile data in Excel and to create graphs for presentations.

• Experience sifting through online news sources, writing summaries.

• Understanding of multilateral institutions.

• Strong writing, proofreading, editing skills, and intra-office communications skills.

• Demonstrated attention to detail.

• Ability to think proactively and conduct directed research inquiries proactively and swiftly.

• Experience researching financial and economic information online.

• Strong Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database, and content management software skills; familiarity with Microsoft

Access and SharePoint, as well as professional social media experience is a plus.

Tasks include:

• Research support for the Executive Director, including preparing and updating slide decks on globalization, the

US economy, and the economics of climate change.

• Attend meetings for the Executive Director as needed.

• Maintain the G30 website; assist with managing the G30 Twitter account.

• Proofread papers and publications.

• Maintain and update the office databases.

• Assist with report mailings.

• Compile news articles for a monthly newsletter.

• Support in preparations for G30 in-person and virtual events.

• Participate in professional economics association events when directed.

• Other various office duties as assigned.
