Summer Intern

In partnership with the Program Manager and Executive Director, the  

Summer Intern is responsible for utilizing their gifts to assist in ensuring a  

high-quality mentoring and Summer program leading to: participant  

development, retention, engagement, as well as increased organizational  

capacity. While there is a focus on Summer program operations this role  

entails a heavy emphasis on discipleship and the ability to flourish in  

relationship building, embodying many aspects of urban missions. 

The Intern will be joining a small but mighty team, and therefore (as  

indicated below) is expected to step into a diverse set of responsibilities.  

HOUSING WILL BE PROVIDED FOR THIS INTERNSHIP ALONG WITH A  

STIPEND

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Program Support (60%) 

Programs/Mentoring Intern 

• Assisting in successfully operating our Summer Programs: Football Mentoring Program,  League Night, Game Day Jobs, Summer Leadership Academy, Equip 2 Serve, Youth Sports  Clinics, Mentor Dinner.  

o Interns may assist in some of the following ways: 

▪ Job Readiness support 

▪ Mentoring teens 

▪ Coaching Sports (teens and/or kids) 

▪ Park/Neighborhood Beautification 

▪ Cooking and/or Serving food/drinks/ lunch 

▪ Planning & Leading lessons/activities/games 

▪ Leading workouts 

▪ Planning events 

▪ Transporting participants 

▪ Set-up/Cleanup  

▪ Conducting Surveys/Registrations, Admin etc…. 

• Actively mentoring participants and encouraging a culture of servant leadership 

Administrative Intern 

• Assisting in successfully strengthening 10:12 Sports administrative and programmatic operations o Interns may assist in some of the following ways: 

▪ Researching and recruiting for in-kind donations 

▪ Assisting in administratively based tasks for sports mentoring programs 

▪ Event Management 

▪ Job Training Supports 

▪ Data Entry 

▪ Partner cultivation 

▪ Transporting youth/interns 

▪ Document creation 

▪ Website content creation 

▪ Improving Metrics 

Media Intern 

• Assisting in improving program media and marketing content  

o Interns may assist in some of the following ways: 

▪ Content Creation (Social, website, flyers etc….) 

▪ Media for campaigns, program highlights, promo videos etc… 

▪ Assisting with updating and implementing marketing plan

Ongoing Education (30%) 

• Engaging in learning about/participating in “Community Living” 

• Participating in ongoing education related to urban ministry (workshops, site visits,  literature..) 

Marketing and Fundraising (10%) 

• Assisting in the marketing of 10:12 Sports programs and events 

QUALIFICATIONS AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS 

• Person of integrity, actively walking out their Christian faith 

• Passion for mentorship and servant leadership 

• Interest in youth development (program intern) 

• Ability to clearly communicate and effectively listen to youth, volunteers and staff • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments 

• Conflict management and resolution skills 

• Alignment with 10:12 Sports’ mission and core values 

• Willingness to be a positive/active part of 10:12 house community 

• Interest in learning about God’s heart for the City and issues in it 

• High School Diploma Required 

Timeline and Compensation 

The Summer Intern is a full-time, seasonal position. 10:12 Sports is  

accepting LIMITED applications with a deadline of May 15, 2025 (10  

weeks), and June 9, 2025 (7 weeks) . 10:12 Sports is an organization that  

is adaptive to the needs of its students and community. Due to this, the  

Summer intern will not be working a typical schedule. HOUSING WILL BE  

PROVIDED FOR THIS INTERNSHIP ALONG WITH A STIPEND

APPLICANTS ACCEPTED FOR THE INTERNSHIP MAY BE ASKED TO SUBMIT A $50  REFUNDABLE PROGRAM FEE IF ACCEPTED, TO HOLD THEIR SPOT, WHICH WILL BE  REIMBURSED ON DAY 1 OF THE INTERNSHIP
