Non-profit Development Intern

Columbia Housing Center, Inc. is seeking a passionate Development Intern to support our fundraising, donor engagement, and outreach efforts. This internship is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in non-profit development, contribute to meaningful projects, and build skills in fundraising, grant writing, and event planning.

 

Responsibilities:

• Assist with donor outreach, stewardship, and communication.

• Conduct research on potential donors, grants, and funding opportunities.

• Support the development of grant proposals, fundraising appeals, and reports.

• Help plan and execute fundraising events and campaigns.

• Maintain and update donor databases and records.

• Assist with social media and marketing efforts to promote fundraising initiatives.

• Collaborate with the development team on new strategies for donor engagement.

 

Requirements:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Public Relations, Business, or a related field.

• Strong writing, research, and organizational skills.

• Interest in fundraising, donor relations, and non-profit development.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and CRM tools (preferred but not required).

• Passion for Columbia Housing Center's mission to champion and sustain thriving, integrated neighborhoods an and around Columbia, Maryland.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with grant writing, donor relations, or fundraising campaigns.

• Familiarity with donor management software (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge).

• Previous experience in a non-profit setting (volunteering or internships).
