Habitat AmeriCorps - Homeowner Services Development

What will you do?

The homeowner services development VISTA member researches and implements a plan for homeowner family recruitment, tracking, scheduling and support with the goal to improve the overall experience for participants. This could include designing a user-friendly application process, creating a comprehensive homeowner curriculum that prepares families for homeownership, or developing a plan to engage the local veteran and military community in Habitat’s mission and the housing solutions provided.

 

  • Research and develop a homeowner recruitment plan, including targeting local faith organizations, employers, school groups, civic groups and other community organizations.
  • Research and develop a system to track homeowner housing applications and status, sweat equity hours and scheduling.
  • Research and develop a homeowner education plan and curriculum to include topics such as financial literacy, home repair, mortgage education, etc.
  • Research and develop materials to recruit new family services committee members, including a volunteer job description.

 

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, national or lawful permanent resident at least 18 or older and have a high school diploma or GED.
