Job Summary:
This Research and Analytics Contractor will work directly and report to the Senior Director, Scientific Engagement and Research at the ASCP Institute for Science, Technology and Public Policy (ISTP). The primary responsibilities of the Research and Analytics Contractor will include conducting analysis and supporting research projects to help develop reports, presentations, policy briefs, and other resources that will drive the Institute’s research and health policy initiatives. The position will also be responsible for providing administrative support to the team members to ensure the efficient operation of the Institute. The Research and Analytics Contractor is expected to work 20 hours (hours may increase based upon need) per week for 3 months.
Job Responsibilities:
The job responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following:
1. Contribute to ongoing workforce initiative projects:
- Perform quantitative and qualitative data analysis for the ongoing workforce research projects, using data analytics tools (E.g. SPSS, SAS, R, Python)
- Support development and deployment of workforce surveys in coordination with ASCP’s marketing and communications team
- Produce tables, figures, and charts to organize and present data in a variety of formats such as research reports, powerpoint presentations, issue briefs, information flyers etc.
2. Provide administrative support to ISTP operations
- Assist in managing committees through scheduling conference calls, coordinating meeting logistics, circulating relevant information, and supporting committee activities
- Support expense management tasks for ISTP through tracking expenses, preparing expense reports
- Assume other administrative and clerical duties to allow the department to operate smoothly such as ordering and maintaining office supplies, acting as the contact person for the building management of DC office site, liaise with Chicago team for any IT -related needs for the department
3. Miscellaneous tasks
- Support ISTP’s representation in ASCP meetings and conference by providing logistical support and assisting in correspondence with other speakers and/or teams
- Monitor and facilitate update of ISTP webpages with new surveys, reports, posters, and other resources
- Perform any other duties as assigned to meet the goals of any ongoing projects
Qualifications
- An undergraduate or graduate degree with demonstrated skills in coursework and/or projects focused on data or data analysis
- Experience in research design and implementation preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience using MS Outlook, Office Suite, including Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience managing data using Excel and SPSS. Knowledge of SAS/STATA/Tableau is preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team
- Ability to work autonomously under limited supervision
