Fall 2025 DC Congressional Intern
Congresswoman Hillary Scholten is looking for highly motivated and driven interns for Fall 2025 in her Washington, D.C. office. The subject line must include your full name and which office you are interested in for your application to be considered (ex: Jane Doe Washington D.C.).
Fall internships typically run from late August through early December, but dates can be flexible. Interns will also receive a monthly stipend. Applications will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis until Thursday, July 3rd, at 5 PM ET. Please note that all applications submitted after this deadline will be considered for the Spring ‘26 internship cohort.
WASHINGTON, D.C. OFFICE
Typical work hours will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. when Congress is in session and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. when Congress is out of session. Interns are expected to work full time, but hours can be flexible to accommodate students' course schedules. The D.C. Office internship allows interns to get involved with the legislative and communications process. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting the legislative staff with research and compiling information
- Putting together daily news clips to monitor press mentions
- Attending hearings and briefings
- Answering phone calls and greeting constituents and stakeholders that enter the office
- Logging phone calls, mail, and other correspondence into our database
- Drafting letters addressing constituent concerns
- Giving Capitol tours
- Any other tasks assigned by the Internship Coordinator
